The start date of your group determines when your first module is released and when your weekly check-ins begin. For example, if your start date is on a Thursday, the weekly check-in will start that week (Sunday to Saturday).

Here’s a quick video tutorial (no sound) on how to change the start date:

If you prefer to read, here are the written instructions:

Step 1. Click the "Edit" link for your group to open the settings.

Step 2. Next, click on the "Modules" tab.

Step 3. Click on the calendar icon under "Release date of the first module" and select your preferred date.

Step 4. Once you've selected the new start date, click the "Save" button.

To verify the new start date, scroll to the top of your screen, then click on the "My Groups" tab.

You'll find the new date under "Start Date."

What Happens If You Change Your Group Start Date?

If you change the start date of your group after members have already been enrolled, Coaching Genie will automatically recalculate the release dates for all scheduled modules and send the module email again on the new release date - even if that member received the same module during a previous run of the group.

This ensures that members enrolled in the current group receive their module notifications at the correct time, without requiring you to manually click Send.

Why This Changed

Previously, if a member had already received a module email (for example, during an earlier session of the same group), Coaching Genie considered that module "already sent" and would not send it again after you changed the group's start date. As a result, some members could miss module notifications unless the coach manually sent the email.

This has now been fixed.

How It Works Now

When you change a group's start date and the module release dates are recalculated:

  • Module release dates are updated automatically.
  • If a module was previously marked as Sent, its email status is reset for the new release schedule.
  • On the new release date, Coaching Genie will automatically send the module email again.
  • No manual action is required from the coach.

This behavior ensures that changing a group's schedule does not prevent members from receiving the correct module notifications for the new timeline.
